Tuesday night's Debate was to be the last of the year. The Today Show said that despite Donald Trump's stance on banning Muslims from the United States, he was still leading nationwide. Ted Cruz was a very close second. Let's hope Donald Trump was able to put a real plan to make America 'great' again on the table. No doubt immigration and national security were sticking points this time.

In the last few months, the surviving seven had their plans to revive America's economy, and the like while the front runner has done nothing to unveil his plan for America, except ruffle the feathers of a few ethnic groups and the nation's military.

Instead of taking pot shots at Ben Carson, the audience was watching to see whether Ted Cruz would be the next victim. What side of Trump was the world to see this time? While it was great to have a catchy slogan, a plan that looks even better than on paper was a winner, not these flat one line statements with no meat on them, Playing to the media was not going to work, no matter how high the entertainment value.

Last night, the debate was kind of strange. They had trouble keeping up with the facts, There was a lot of talk from the front runner about tough talk about shutting down the internet and finding tough people to deal with Isis, but no real plan. He did have a solid plan in place for trade. Depending on what he said, the response bought chuckles, cheers or jeers.

The real fight was in the spot behind the leader. At least the showdown between Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz took place. While others thought this was Jeb Bush's swan song, some were still saying that he had a chance in New Hampshire He did have a valid point when criticizing Trump's lack of direction concerning national security.

One of the videos said that of all the presidential candidates, Ted Cruz was the one ahead because he had a platform in place for security and immigration.

To get sign ups for the My Writing Site Newsletter my focus was immediate family members. The running joke was that they were a 'captive audience', so to speak. The reality was that the blog site and the fan pages were both shown to all. When asked to join my site, they were placed on the weekly post, as all of them worked.

In all fairness, not everything was read in a newsletter. Most of the time the stories read by me were those with the catchy headline. The shorter the pieces were the better they were liked. Not everyone liked reading about celebrity gossip, at least which Hollywood couple spit, who got married or who spent time in jail because of a domestic dispute. Marriages, divorces, arrests, and lawsuits were a matter of public record, so that can't be kept secret. One of the Mary-Kate Olsen married someone 17 years older than herself.

One thing this blogger gave credit to were Lionel Ritchie and Bruce Willis. When they went through a divorce, both disappeared for two years to divide their property from their exes. Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman announced their split too, but he is still doing commercials. Chris Rock and his ex were still in a custody battle.

My goal was increasing readership. That meant some of the petty backbiting and infighting seen in some well known families had to be overlooked, to some extent.That kind of thing did bring in viewers, but it was a private situation that should be kept off social media. Any kind of public dispute or nude photo became the next trending or hashtag topic on Facebook.While the Mummy reboot might not bring too much of an audience in the theater, there might be die hard fans, depending on the plot and setting. At least the audience won't see Tom Cruise in the cast. Star Wars: The Force Awakens just announced that a female droid was to be placed in the movie to honor a girl who was a fan that died. This was a touching tribute to one's daughter.

With all the bad press about the need for gun control and cops getting into trouble for fatally shooting men of color, it's refreshing to find a female that knew when to use her gun. Apparently, this was a Craigslist deal that went sour after the couple who bought a car from someone claiming to have one for sale online, went to complete the transaction at an Aiken, South Carolina gas station. One of them pulled a gun on the woman's boyfriend and she pulled hers from her handbag and fired it, killing him. The second man ran. Neither the woman or her boyfriend had any injuries, but police were searching for that second man.

This reminds me of a post written about robbers getting shot when they tried to rob a well-known anchorwoman and her husband, who was a trained military man who also was well trained on how to use a gun. The above synopsis didn't say whether any charges were to be filed. There probably won't be because of the robbery attempt from the sellers of the car that wasn't.

The above incident was the U.S. Constitution at work The Second Amendment allows for 'the right to bear arms' and the Preamble allows for the nation to 'provide for the common defense'. Why then, does law enforcement slip up when it came to using their guns? Like the woman in the lead story and the one highlighted in July, they were trained to use a gun to protect others. In spite of the mandatory use of body cams and modern devices like cell phones, things were not getting any better. A lot of bad press was placed on social media, which made a situation worse for the cop responsible for the fatal shootings recently. Several of those cops were fired or left the force due to social media pressure.

For the cop that shot an unarmed youth in Chicago 16 times, were those other 15 shots justified? Were the nation's cops in order?

Something wasn't right. According to one article, the protest in Chicago was an effort to mandate changes in the use of force in an effort to end police brutality. With all the sensitivity training and camera footage didn't seem to stop the violence against the black youth in that area. It was a wonder that the police weren't trusted. Some were blaming the media for this rise in ethic violations. Unlike the riot in Ferguson last year, protesters were peaceful, but angry about the incidents this year. Their only crime was blocking #BlackFriday shoppers in the downtown Chicago area and in a northern mall. In Ferguson, #BlackFriday was boycotted on the anniversary of the Missouri shooting.

The problem was in what the U.S. The Supreme Court (SCOTUS) allowed local cops. Right now, they were granted free reign. The court had never defined anything other than 'whatever was necessary for protection' A lot of the men and women came out of the academy knowing that there weren't any limits placed on the use of force they used to protect themselves or others. They left the regulations up to their precinct.

 These majority white grand juries see beat cops as the thin blue line that protects whites from black thuggery.  The result is very lethal and dangerous beat cops who are emboldened and more trigger happy than combat soldiers. At least, combat soldiers must get approval from their superiors and comply with the rules of engagement before using deadly force.  Not so with beat cops.  The law will not hold them accountable even if excessive force complaints and lawsuits pile up against them.  Instead, the law typically shields them from accountability.

None of the protests would've occurred if the Chicago Police Department had paid attention the other excessive force complaints filed against Jason Van Dyke. The judge in that case ordered the release of the video a year after the cover up occurred. It appeared to me that Laquin McDonald's family was paid 'hush money'.  Either way, it was still wrong. Maybe the Supreme Court should re-evaluate and redefine its meaning of 'whatever force necessary' . Until they do, protests in high crime minority communities will continue to react to excessive force used by the police.

I have spent many hours playing farmville but this was like that only at the end you keep the farm and you have something of real value.

Again I never paid him $1.  I kept waiting to see the trick but there truly is none.

This was a sad day in Paris, France because ten months after the attack on the paper, which killed 12 in January, this time 127 people were killed in attacks at a theater and at other locations in the city. The death toll still climbed.

Dramatic cell phone video shows survivors fleeing concert venue

France's president called it "An Act of War". According to the Today Show, this morning, ISIS claimed responsibility. Here was what was known so far.

The good news was, both Muslim and Arabs around the world had condemned the attacks in France. Another video said that opponents in the area were ready to buck ISIS and their leaders because they weren't going to accept the pitch of a caliphate.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent a message to French President Francois Hollande Saturday, informing him Iran was offering its thoughts and prayers to the French people. Iran and its allies, Hezbollah and the Assad regime in Syria, have been fighting ISIS. Rouhani also announced he has postponed a planned trip to Italy and France. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who worked with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to reach the Iran nuclear deal, was quoted by Iranian state-run news agency IRNA saying he condemned “terrorist operations at any forms” and that Iran, as a victim of terrorism, have always rejected terrorist activity.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, released a statement Friday night saying: “These savage and despicable attacks on civilians, whether they occur in Paris, Beirut or any other city, are outrageous and without justification. We condemn these horrific crimes in the strongest terms possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of those killed and injured and with all of France. The perpetrators of these heinous attacks must be apprehended and brought to justice.”

Just last month, he called the U.S. 'The Great Satan' and how it was vanquished by the passing of the nuclear deal recently.  All that has seen this attack in Paris acted like they wanted a major confrontation with the enemy.  Instead of physical violence, the French sang their national anthem in defiance at a train station. Just like the January attack the new hash tag #ParisAttack also showed that people weren't afraid after this tragedy. Some even displayed the colors on their flag in defiance and solidarity, showing they were not scared. Paris was about life.
